The system formerly known as Lego Mindstorms is being continued as a Lego Education product series entitled Lego Spike Prime. At the heart of every electronically driven structure – be it a Ferris wheel or a robot – is a programmable device. The system also integrates motors, sensors, gear wheels and axles. Projects can be created with the classic building blocks found in (almost) every child’s room. Linus Musekamp (see next page) is a fan: “If you have some technical knowledge, you can build something really cool in little more than an hour and a half.” Recommended for ages 10 and up, an Essential Set for two children costs around €300.
