Renewable energies are the solution. However, integrating them into the existing system is a huge challenge. But for Jasmin Schirra, this is precisely what makes her work as a project engineer at Westnetz, Germany’s largest distribution grid operator, so satisfying. She loves both technical challenges and direct contact with customers. “It’s the perfect combination for me.”
The 28-year-old joined Westnetz on a placement. She then became a bachelor’s and master’s student there before truly joining the company as a trainee almost four years ago. “I really love my home,” she says happily. By this she no doubt means both her place of residence, Trier, and her employer. (MSK)
