It’ll be fine – Technology and our trust in it
Trust is perhaps the most important resource of modern technology—and at the same time, the most invisible. No one checks a heat pump’s safety mechanisms before turning it on, measures the voltage at a public charging station, or takes apart a battery storage unit before installing it in the basement. Even engineers rely every day on systems whose inner workings they do not understand down to the last detail. And that’s a good thing. After all, progress and innovation wouldn’t be possible at all if our own control weren’t replaced by something else: a blind trust that it will work.
